Customer brief

A manufacturer of skin, body, and hair-care products for spa, salon, and at-home use required a more reliable method for mixing carbomer-based powder with water to produce a private-label body polish formulation.

Carbomer is a water-soluble thickener and stabilising gelling agent that expands rapidly when wetted and must be thoroughly dispersed to achieve the desired consistency. If not properly hydrated, the powder can clump, cake, clog equipment, or require excess material addition to reach target viscosity.

The customer’s objective was to achieve:

  • Consistent gel structure and suspension quality
  • Reliable emulsification without separation
  • Reduced foaming and overflow risk
  • Faster, more efficient batch production
